One part of the series that hit me wrong was the commentary about the verdict w regard to motherhood.... she was a mother, the judge was a mother, these women just wanted to be mothers, etc. It seemed like the narrative/interpretation of the verdict being pushed was *motherhood privilege.* It hit me along the same lines as the feminist rhetoric that staying home w your kids is a privilege... I was like nah ya'll just hate mothers and don't want to acknowledge the work of mothering. But I feel a little differently after the commentary on infantalizing... so good! I hadn't thought of it like that and that rings true as well!
