Being a Mom is Cool and We Love it.
We believe motherhood is a glorious and transformational journey for women.
It has brought us a distinct kind of happiness that simply doesn’t compare with other undertakings. To be a mother is to harness every inner resource you have, down to the very last drop, and selflessly pour it into another human being. It’s the hardest, most rewarding thing a woman can ever do and we dig it.
Our Culture Makes Motherhood So Much Harder Than it Needs To Be
The modern American mother is a second class citizen. She is in exile from her village, starved for resources, and treated like a punchline by the larger culture. Mainstream parenting encourages mothers to separate from their babies, treat their toddlers like Pavlovian test subjects, and alienates women from their maternal instincts. We think think this is stupid and bad.
We Believe in Radical Motherhood
A lot of our beliefs fall under the banner of “crunchy” or “alternative”. We shrug our shoulders (wrapped in naturally dyed organic cotton, of course) because we think our beliefs are just biologically normal. But what is normal is now radical: we believe in attachment over independence, in biological needs over cultural demands, we trust women’s bodies, we distrust anyone who says otherwise. We are critical of any system, trend, or advice that encourages women to outsource their power to gadgets, influencers, or multi-national corporations. We champion any woman who fights for these same beliefs and welcome those who are curious!
Go, Ahead Breastfeed Your Kid ‘Til College
We are unapologetic lactivists: breastfeeding is what gives women more freedom, autonomy, and power in motherhood. Not only is it the perfect food, breastfeeding is the foundation that the mother and child relationship is based on. Nurse on demand, nurse to sleep, nurse at birthday parties, nurse on a Zoom call, nurse through toddler years, nurse until your kid makes their first mortgage payment, go f--king crazy with it. Lactation is the reason why mammals like us rule the world. We're here to celebrate (educate, influence, evangelize, support) breastfeeding and go hard against anything that tries to undermine it.
Come Sit (Rage, Laugh, Break Stuff) With Us
We want to build a community of radical, cheeky, hard hitting, mother-sucking lactivist moms! Formula companies, the health insurance industrial complex, weird influencers, whack-ass pop culture have endless amounts of capital to hijack motherhood. Not us, all we have is each other.
Most Importantly
We also believe Bravo television programming is the most delicious garbage that should be consumed on the regular.
