In researching about ped attitudes towards exclusive breastfeeding I came across a pretty jarring factoid: A 2017 study found that between 1995 and 2014 fewer pediatricians believed that the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding outweighed the difficulties or inconvenience and less believed that almost all mothers could successfully breastfeed.

Next, we dug into the extremely BORING trope of “losing yourself to motherhood”. I argue that you what you likely miss is being taken seriously as a first class citizen instead of a punchline. And that you shouldn’t blame your baby or motherhood for feeling lost after you have kids, blame all the systems that make being a mom so shitty. For me personally, I have found great freedom in ‘getting lost in motherhood’:
