Heehehe: Bobbie's Pathetic Response to our Nurse-In

Ok, so, for World Breastfeeding Day, hundreds of rad moms across the globe (South Africa! Switzerland! Peru!) protested Bobbie formula and their male investors who finance the company's predatory marketing. The story of our movement is simple:
We are for boobs before bros.
Motherbaby before profits.
Women before corporations.
Anyways! It was a huge success! Here are some of my favorite shots:

A little more context: last year, Bobbie responded to our nurse-in by trying to get our hashtag banned to no avail. This year, they were more proactive and clearly more squirmy. Bobbie has spent a lot of money branding itself as a mom-led company, but the reality is: it’s a company that serves to make wealthy male investors even wealthier.
In a pitiful effort to counter the, um, truth about who funds Bobbie, the boss babes posted this on their Instagram page:
Next, Bobbie, I guess, asked some of their investors boss babes to post supportive comments?? Which also tickles me because like only 3 of them did it and then there were a bunch of complaints from pissed off Bobbie customers over refunds and delays. Ok, first of all:
Next, while there might be hundreds (doubtful) of Bobbie customers who have put in $100 to $2,000 into the company through Bobbie’s investment arm Motherlode— the $142 million in venture cap money came from a half dozen 100% MALE RUN investment firms. It’s not working moms who gonna get rich off of formula, it’s going to be dudes like this dweeb, Lenny Rachitsky, an early investor in Bobbie. You can watch him here giggle with Bobbie CEO, Laura Modi, about how breastfeeding has no advantage over formula, except to reduce cow farts.
What does this all mean? Bobbie doesn’t like it when moms like us yank their covers and expose all the men with their teenie weenie beanies who profit off the destruction of breastmilk, which means: that’s exactly what we’re going to keep doing. 😎
